Katie started her horse career learning polo. She worked as a groom first, then a player/trainer for ten years. She then had an opportunity to move to a private stable training 3-4 year olds for the hunter/jumper world. She showed A circuit with two of them then moved to Aiken SC to train professionally for hunter/jumper. She moved back home to Vermont where she opened her own stable taking in the horses everyone else gave up on. Her goal was to find that partnership and trust with horses. Next she started showing dressage with her own horse, whom she started under saddle, currently he's showing at 2nd level. Katie attended a clinic with Diana Mukpo where she was offered an assistant trainer position with Cutler farm. She then spent the fall in Medfield Massachusetts and the winter in Wellington Florida learning, training and showing. Now she resides in Vermont, where she enjoys sharing all that she's learned over fences, in the dressage ring, or starting young horses.
