Allenwood Stables

Allenwood Stables is located in the village of Plainfield, Vermont on scenic US Route 2, 15 minutes from Montpelier. We take pride in the quality of services we provide our boarders. Owner and manager Sarah Matthew has a great passion for horses and provides around the clock care for the horses she boards. The environment is extremely family friendly. Those who come feel a sense of warmth and welcome and tend to stay.

Teaching:

All students are welcome here. Whether you are an experienced rider looking to refine your skills and move up the levels, a complete beginner, or a novice that is ready to try horse shows, we are prepared to take you where you want to go. We pride ourselves in the warm and friendly environment that has been created at the farm. It makes learning fun and interactive for all, and we will never change that. We offer 1 hour riding lessons, private, semi-private, or group, as well as 30 minute private lessons. Hourly rates per instructor.

Training:

We offer all kinds of training for your horse. We can start young horses that have no experience with training. If your horse has a “bad habit” or vice, we will to take the time to understand why the horse is behaving in that manner, and work through various exercises to correct it. Daily exercise for your horse is also available, and our trainers will work on whatever your goal is with your horse in a positive and constructive way.

Boarding Options:

Stall Board: $425.00 monthly.
Includes hay, grain, bedding, heated water buckets, stall cleaning, turn out and turn in, and full use of the facility. Blanketing for an additional fee.

Pasture Board: $350.00 monthly.
Includes free choice hay 24/7 in outdoor hay feeder, heated water, three sided shelter in each paddock and full use of the facility. Blanketing for an additional fee.
